Critter

"By morning the wind had brought the locusts; they invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of locusts, nor will there ever be again. They covered all the ground until it was black. They devoured all that was left after the hail—everything growing in the fields and the fruit on the trees. Nothing green remained on tree or plant in all the land of Egypt." -Exodus 10, NIV

About

Critter came to one of Superjail's may multiversal instances for one specific reason: boredom. They disguised themself as vaguely human and committed a crime they knew would get them caught by Jailbot, landing them directly in the walls of Superjail. In truth, they are a member of an incredibly hostile and invasive alien race whose prime objective is to infest and consume the resources of every planet they land on, but they don't have the motivation to do that yet. The Warden seems to be oblivious to the fact that Critter is, in fact, an alien.

Their species has superhuman strength and agility, and they would hunt humans as prey had they relegated themself to their instincts. As it stands, they mainly use these abilities to get places they shouldn't be, such as the top of the watchtowers and even inside of the Warden's room on one occasion. They have a sort of "universal speech" in that their insect-like shrieks and chirps tend to be understood by all who hear them after a certain amount of time as coherent speech. It may be due to the side properties of this ability that they can also understand the less coherent prisoners, notably Jacknife. Their home planet has a thicker atmosphere and appears constantly overcast, so they are easily overstimulated by bright light. When they're forced to take in more than they can handle, they shed their disguise and enter a berzerker state. Oddly enough, the light of a fire is different and will bring them down from their wild state.

In terms of personality, they're a laid-back troublemaker who's usually too tired to cause any significant amounts of chaos in their own. They live more for the small things—the rubber bands around the sink sprayers and the buckets over the doors. Their love language consists of gently bullying and beating up those they love, and ripping into and maiming those who hurt them.

Jacknife

Romantic, boyfriend

Jacknife and Critter's relationship is an enigma to the others at Superjail for a multitude of reasons. How is their relationship even remotely stable? How did Jacknife fall for an ambiguously-gendered bug when he's usually the biggest tits guy in the jail? How does Critter seem to know exactly when he's about to come back through the gates? No one knows, but they're usually too busy trying to stay out of their warpath to ask. Their relationship is not a soft one by any means, and they tend to show affection towards each other by way of breaking insane amounts of protocol for the other.

Their relationship reads to outsiders like a constant struggle for dominance, with each and every interaction ending in a small fight. However, it's all done in good spirits, as Critter could easily kill Jacknife if they truly felt threatened.

Ash Firin

Familial, brother

Ash accidentally fell into a brotherly role to Critter by setting a fire to defend himself from one of their rampages. This inadvertently calmed them down enough for the other prisoners to return their headphones and bring them back to a more docile state. After this incident, they grew attached and began following Ash around during their spare time. His fear of the alien slowly turned into a sort of brotherly affection as he saw how much they cared about what he had to say, and what they were willing to do to protect him from others.

He does have to remind them from time to time that the other prisoners are still his friends, and that Critter isn't allowed to attack them just because they said something mean. Besides this, their interactions are the closest Critter ever gets to being "soft".

The Twins

Friends?????

It's debatable whether or not the Twins actually consider Critter a friend or not. There seems to be a sort of mutual respect between them where they clearly know that the other is not earthly, but beyond that, they both only work together to further each other's chaos in Superjail. Otherwise, the tension between them suggests that they would sell the other out to Satan for a single corn chip.

Due to the events of Terrorarium, Jacknife was incredibly wary about Critter at first. It wasn't until he realized that they could actually understand him that they started bonding.

The juviniles of Critter's species adapt to their environment through consumption of the elements around them. This extends to the consumption of other species, which leads to the juviniles absorbing the abilities of that species.

Critter's relationship with Ash's "friends" (Nicky, Gary, Jean Baptiste, and Paul) is rocky at best. They tend to get along with Paul the most and Nicky the least. Gary has a 50/50 chance of setting off their fight or flight response regardless of his actions.
